What is a Family?

My mothers side of the family has taught me that family is not a name, it is not the tradition, the rules. Family is the connection of the people that are your blood and those that you love. It is not a name, it is not the sacrifice of one personality for another, it is not the induction of one into another but a never-ending evolution of mixing the families and including the different variations of the people around you. With the Blocha’s they are Blocha’s. That is the family.  With the Chamberlains they are not just Chamberlains. There is an abundance of names. There is not the family and the significant others. With them, we simply are. They are all family, through blood or legality. It is the connection of the people, the inclusion of everyone.
